Hi!
I’m Katie, a freelance artist based in Washington state. I graduated from Western Washington University in 2018 with a BFA in painting. My work draws from the fine details in life: the light shining on a freshly cut orange, the breeze rustling leaves, shadows dancing on a sheer curtain. I take these inspirations and create using oil paint, watercolor, colored pencil.
My fiber arts project is Squid Knits. I learned to knit in 2018 and have been in love with the process of making and learning. Knitting is a practice in patience, enjoying the process more so than the finished product. I knit by hand as well as learning on a machine. I’m currently working on completing illustrations for a children’s book.
